Simple Apple Desserts

Did you know that apples at the orchard are only sold by the hundreds? Not kidding. So what do you do when you only need one?

Which leads to the real question: what do you do with the 99 extra apples that you didn’t need in the first place? And the answer is: make these apple desserts 99 more times!

Because cinnamon, sweet apples, and buttery toppings make for one heck of a dessert. A creamy, warm, and intensely flavorful dessert.

1. Caramel Apple Cookies

Can we talk about apples and caramel inside a cookie? I mean, yes please, I’ll take a whole batch!

These little guys are packed with apple chunks and get a super sweet caramel frosting on top. They are unbelievably fluffy and light, and the flavor is just amazing. It only takes one bite and you will be completely in love.

2. Cracker Barrel Fried Apples

When you need a quick sweet thing after dinner, you seriously cannot do better than these fried apple slices. The fruit simmers in apple juice until it’s perfectly fork tender.

Then you make a quick sauce with the juice, some spices, cornstarch, and sugar. It creates this glossy coat over the top that is just so irresistible!

3. Apple Pecan Cake with Caramel Glaze

Step aside, banana bread, there’s a new quick bread taking over! This apple pecan cake is ridiculously good, even before you add the sweet caramel glaze.

The apple pieces make it so incredibly moist, and that crunch you get from the pecans is a total delight. For the glaze, just follow your heart and pour on as much as you want!

4. Caramel Apples

If you’ve never tried making caramel apples in your own kitchen, this is the recipe you need to try. I promise, you are going to be so surprised by how simple it is to make a whole bunch of them.

All you need are a few easy ingredients, a little creativity, and some patience, and you’ll have an entire platter ready to go. The kids can even jump in and help with the decorating!

5. Apple Streusel Bars

Soft, tender apple bars absolutely loaded with cinnamon streusel on top. Doesn’t that just sound divine?

And because you mix and bake it all together (except for the crumble), it’s totally effortless to whip up. These have a fantastic balance between moist and fluffy. And while they have a little density, they aren’t overly cakey.

6. Dutch Apple Pie

I love a flaky, buttery pastry, but sometimes it can feel like a little too much in an apple pie. That’s exactly why this recipe with a crumble on top is one of my favorites.

Plus, you can totally make this happen with a store-bought pie crust, some apple pie filling, and a quick crumble topping of flour, sugar, and butter. Easy peasy.

7. Apple Strawberry Cake

If you’ve ever had a European cake, you know they often have a buttery sponge with fruit and skip the frosting or glaze. The moisture from the fruit does all the work!

In this recipe, that means you get pieces of apple and lots of strawberries. They’re both in the middle and scattered on top, so every spoonful is packed with fruity goodness.

8. Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars

Let me just break down what’s happening in these salted caramel apple pie bars. First, a soft and buttery shortbread crust. Then, apples completely soaked in cinnamon and sugar.

After that, a crumbly streusel topping. And to finish, a drizzle of salted caramel sauce.

All that amazingness in one single bite! These bars have the soul of a classic apple pie, but just… better.

9. Caramel Apple Poke Cake

This caramel apple poke cake is a total sensation and so simple to pull together. Just because we’re starting with an instant mix doesn’t mean this cake isn’t absolutely top-notch.

It’s so incredibly moist, tender, and just bursting with apple flavor. The cake is delicious all on its own, but the toffee bits and caramel sauce just send it over the top.

10. No-Churn Apple Pie Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for this apple pie ice cream! This recipe is just as tasty as it is beautiful. And nope, you don’t need a special ice cream maker.

You just need cream, apples, some oatmeal cookies, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Oh, and a freezer!

11. Ina Garten Apple Pie Bars

Full disclosure, these are a lot like the caramel apple bars we just talked about. But where that recipe has caramel and oats in its topping, this one calls for buttery walnuts and a whole lot of sticky brown sugar.

They are just as yummy and spiced, but they feel a little less chewy without the oats.

12. French Cinnamon Apple Tart

The French just get so many things right. But I really think their desserts are where they truly excel. This stunning apple tart is all the proof you need!

It is shockingly easy to pull off at home, but it looks like it came straight from a fancy bakery. Talk about a total win-win!

13. Apple Pie Fudge

Sweet and chewy fudge that’s packed with apple and cinnamon? I think this might be the ultimate fall fudge. These little bite-sized pieces are mind-blowingly delicious.

They have just the right amount of sweetness, and the warm fall spices elevate this fudge to a whole new level of autumn goodness. It’s like getting to eat apple pie and fudge at the very same time. Delish!

14. Apple Oatmeal Bars

But if you are all about the oats, I have the perfect recipe for you! These apple oatmeal bars are simply gorgeous.

They’re so moist, chewy, and completely oozing with cinnamon yumminess. Plus, the way the apples and oatmeal come together creates such a wonderful textural contrast.

15. Apple Peanut Butter Cookies

If you’re a fan of dipping apple slices into peanut butter, I have a dessert recipe here that is going to completely blow you away.

These cookies are unbelievably soft and chewy and just bursting with apples, cinnamon, and peanut butter. One is definitely not enough, so you should probably just make a double batch!

16. Skillet Apple Raspberry Galette

How pretty is this rustic apple galette? And it’s all because of those bright raspberries!

Even though there are spices in this one, it isn’t overpowering like some other apple recipes can be. Instead, the raspberries totally lift the flavors and bring a ton of sweetly tart goodness into every single bite.

17. Ultimate Moist Apple Cupcake

From the light, fluffy, beautifully spiced cupcake to the tangy apple filling and that dreamy mascarpone frosting, these little guys are impossible to turn down.

The cake itself is incredible. And it would be super yummy with only the frosting. But the apples make it even more scrumptious and totally decadent.

18. Chocolate Covered Caramel Apple Slices

You know, dessert doesn’t always have to take hours. This recipe is all the proof you need! It’s ready in under 30 minutes, and the hardest thing you have to do is melt some chocolate.

This recipe uses vegan chocolate and dairy-free milk, but you can definitely use regular. No matter what, go wild with all the toppings!

19. Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

It doesn’t matter if you call them blondies or brownies, you just have to agree that these bad boys look so indulgent.

They’re fudgy like a brownie, but the base is a mix of brown sugar, eggs, flour, and more. It’s almost like a really thick cookie!

Then you add a spiced apple filling and a maple glaze right on top. Sounds pretty amazing, right?

20. Dutch Apple Cheesecake

Have you ever gone to the Cheesecake Factory and ordered their Dutch apple cheesecake? OMG, it is a true thing of beauty!

It’s pretty much a rich and creamy baked cheesecake that has a cinnamon apple crumble on top. You should feel free to use some apple pie filling to make things quicker.

But do not skimp on that crumb topping!

Looking for something a little extra special for this Sunday’s brunch dessert? What about this tart and sweet apple and blueberry coffee cake? I know, it’s kind of a mouthful.

But that is definitely a good thing here, I swear. The apple chunks and those vibrant blueberries really shine in every bite of this cake. And the crumble on top and the glaze are just the perfect way to finish it.
